'niceworkshop' by Hyunseog Oh explores the physical qualities of materials, creating a defined visual language.
Hyunseog Oh (b. 1994) grew up in a city located in the middle of South Korea. He received a BA in interior architecture from Soongsil University. Hyunseog Oh established ‘niceworkshop’ in 2021 and continues his creative activities as an independent artist and a wide range of creative activities ranging from objects, furniture, and spaces.
‘niceworkshop’ is a design studio based in Seoul. Exploring the physical properties of materials, they present experimental works of new themes and forms. We are building our own language through the series, and our representative works include ‘Bolt Series’ using full threaded bolts and the action-inducing furniture series ‘Affordance Series.’
2023 PFW niceworkshop. SHOWROOM in 40Dr
niceworkshop. is a design studio based in Seoul, run by Hyunseog Oh. Exploring the physical properties of materials, they present experimental works of new themes and forms. They are building their own language through the series, and their representative work is the ‘Bolt Series’ using fully threaded bolts and nuts. From June 23 to June 28, the studio holds a showroom in Paris, releasing an exclusive new line of furniture and objects. The showroom takes place at 40Dr, a temporary space by Marin Mornieux.
