OHLA STUDIO is a design studio founded in 2017 by Giulia Zink and Mat Trumbull. We offer design services and creative consultancy with a focus on art direction, interior, and landscape design. Our client range includes brands of different scales: from real estate developers, retailers to boutique businesses.

ALCOCER

ALCOCER is our inaugural furniture collection - a love poem to Mexico. We celebrated the beauty of local craftmanship, from stone carving to metal hammering to textile embroidery.

In our work, there is a file rouge that connects our trajectory as Ohla Studio. It’s personal, it’s complex and hard to annunciate. At times it’s clear as day, and other times it feels vague and intangible. We investigate and celebrate that it fuels our work and our life.

LANDIN Stone Tables Collection

This collection draws upon the earliest known works of representational art. From crude symbols painstakingly chipped into cave walls, stone carving is a practice that has been utilized by mankind for almost 800,000 years.

NIVOLA Table Lamp

A tribute to some of the lesser-known terracotta work of Costantino Nivola. A celebration of love in all its forms: grotesque, consoler, violent and lyrical. A celebration of life, as arrogant as irresistible.

PAULIN Coffee and Side Table

Paulin is a series of late-night conversations, dripping wax on the wood floor, lighting up the casita on a warm summer night. A piano plays at intervals. Pau is an original painting cast in aluminium.

ANTICA Light Collection

A pre-Hispanic smithing tradition thrives by recycling copper scraps into contemporary lighting fixtures. Originally copper was mined by indigenous people to elaborate masks, chains and other objects as an offering to the Tarascan gods.

LUPITA Dining Chair

This chair is inspired by the traditional 19th-century Mexican scallop-carved benches that furnish the courtyard of small colonial churches in central Mexico. For us an invitation to pause and reconnect. Hand carved in pine has been cast in aluminium and upholstered with olive low-pile velvet. COM/COL is available. A swatch is required for approval before production.
