Uxi, is a graphic designer and self-taught ceramic artist. She was born and lives in Mérida, México.
Her work is built within the failure and experience based on empirical knowledge and the endless exploration of the ceramic craft and its materials.
The process usually starts by collecting the minerals from the ground without knowing their usability or functionality of it, to pulverize the stones later, analyze their qualities, and create new clay formulas.
The final work comes as an extension or fragment from the ground that emerges to create a utilitarian object or a sculptural piece in shapes inspired by nature, architecture, and local culture.
